A campaign to increase donations and bring food to the plate of those who are hungry.


One year later, the coronavirus pandemic is even more urgent, affecting lives and increasing inequalities. The number of people living in extreme poverty doubled in Brazil in 2020, reaching 12.8% of the population (FGV, 2021).


More and more Brazilians find themselves in a situation of hunger. Moreover, the increase in unemployment has reached 13.9 million people (IBGE, 2020). 68% of favela residents do not have money to eat (Data Favela, 2021).


Meanwhile, financial and food donations have fallen dramatically, hampering the work of various movements and associations.

We take food to vulnerable populations in urban centers and suburbs. In one year, food donations to Gastromotiva fell by 66%.

The pandemic is not over and hunger has only increased.

    The Gastromotiva Food Bank was created to serve organizations and partner projects of the Social Gastronomy network with donations of food inputs that contribute to the production of meals served to people in a situation of vulnerability and food insecurity.


    More than 60 organizations and projects are served by the Gastromotiva Food Bank and more than 300,000 nutritious meals are served to those who need it most.


    In 2020 alone, more than 200 tons of food in perfect conditions of consumption were rescued from food waste and resignified in solidarity!
